Title: What a rush

Blog Entry: Today went from a cold windy day to a beautiful blue sky day. I had been in one of my treestands for about four hours. I watched a flock of turkeys for several hours meander back and forth in the field my stand looks over. They just would not come in bow range. I decided to use my grunt call, which I used every 20 to 30 minutes or so. Then the rattle bag. Next, I heard a splash and leaves russling. It was a deer on its way to see what was grunting. It was a shooter buck. I nice 8 point. I grabbed my bow and tried to get in position. The buck breezed by my first shooting lane (from my left to my right) and was heading for my next shooting lane. Then he stopped behind a tree and mile of branches. Well, not a mile, but enough to make it imposible to get a shot. He was broad side, Just go 20 feet. No, he turned and looked my way. It seemed like hours. I stood perfectly still, just waiting to go to fulldraw. Then, he just turned a walked away. What a rush. It took a half hour for my legs to stop shaking.
