I'm a lifelong resident of Kansas. I started hunting upland game when I was hardly big enough to hold up a gun. I started bowhunting in the 80's, & for those of you that don't know much about Kansas deer hunting history,(at least the area that I grew up in) there weren't many deer around in the 70s and 80s...or outfitters and leased land or even deer hunters. I knew people that owned bows, but they sure didn't hunt with them.
Anyway, now my life revolves around whitetails. But, I'll hunt just about anything, anywhere, anytime. I'm not a field tester, not a member of any prostaff, TV show or anything like that. I have no goods to peddle, no outfitting lodge to cater to your needs, I don't guide, and I have no company owned huntin truck. I hunt my private lands 90 percent of the time, with products I pay for by putting in hours behind a desk programming our computer system, and helping train and manage our sales team.
Don't get me wrong. I would love to be able to take people out and guide their hunts. But I'm just a hardworking guy that loves to hunt, and doesn't go over the edge with what I can afford due to time or money. I'm pretty loyal to products "that work for me" no matter what the brand name is.
