WandWGuideAssistant trapping season is in full swing!

Hi Everyone, My name is Kim and I am part of a fantastic, small, family run, Maine Company called W & W Guide Service. My main responsibilities are our website updates, contracts, marketing, and promoting. My love for the outdoors started long before my role with W & W, I am a fresh and salt water fisherman, recreation enthusiast and have recently purchased my first compound bow to begin hunting in the fall (but for now am sticking with target practice!). Ironically I come from a large extended family, which 90% of my relatives were boys and I am the only one who is interested in hunting.

By day, I work as a manager of a Rehab Department in a nursing home, and also as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Most of my weekends are surrounded with something to do with the oudoors. I have a seven year old son who I taught to fish and camp, and now can't wait until he is old enough to go hunting with his mom.

Help me reach my goal for the Boston Breast Cancer 3-Day!

Hey ya,, did you do any bow hunting this fall? I sat in a tree stand twice, saw nothing. I did get my first partridge this week, and did some deer hunting yesterday, but didn't see anything. How about you?

No I didn't do any bear hunting..we didn't have any free time. I did go sit in a tree stand for the first time with my bow the other night, didn't see anything but still had a good time anyway. Will probably go again on Monday. Mike and my son put up a tree stand for me thats not very far from the house. He's going moose hunting this week with his cousins, and we plan to go bird hunting later this month. Hope you get a chance to get in the woods!

Hey...how ya been? Are you doing any bowhunting this season? I bought my license...going to practice a little today (if the rain stops), Mike put out some camera's for me and has a spot to put up a tree stand, may be today we'll get it up. I went to BOW a couple of weeks ago and had a great time, shooting skeet, muzzleloaders, putting up a tree stand, tying knots etc...

So how did turkey seasnon end for ya...me cant' wait till next year!!

No I didn't - I shot at two but missed. Had a really good time, anyway. Didn't get out too much in the end of the season the bugs get bad, and its not as much fun, even while we were using the thermocell. So early season next year...

I didn't get one this year, but truthfully only got out the first day! I had so much going on during the season, I just couldn't get out more! We will see what fall season brings me! Did you get one?

Have you been out turkey hunting? We went yesterday didn't see or hear any in areas where I could shoot. The bugs are really bad..definitely need the thermacell!! Not sure if I'll be able to get out again. Think I saw your Dad on Friday, Mike's sister inlaw graduated from the police academy...hope you have better luck with the turkey's than I did.

We did hunt today! We were int he woods and set up 5 min before legal shooting time. Could hear two Tom's through the woods behind us, but couldn't pull them over to our decoys. After 2 hours we moved on over to the power lines where they were, but we couldn't call them in there either! We walked around and found LOTS of strut markings! We drove around and sure enough there was a TOM all fluffed out in someone's front yard! I swear he was taunting me! The season's early! I will go again, but probably not until the end of the month! I can't take any more time off from work! How come you didn't shoot with your bow?

I could probably aim better if I did..I've got a whole lot more practice shooting it than I do the shot gun. Mike thinks I've gotta better chance with the shotgun..it does pattern really well. He said last night he thinks I shot behind the the head, since thats where he saw the wad go. He's out right now, lobsterman have a lot more free time lol!! I'm getting ready for work wish I was with him, can't wait to get out there again!! Good Luck!

Did you hunt today? If you did how did you do? We did, had a big tom walk right past our blind, I got a shot off but missed.. using my boyfriends 12 guage Fraunke w/ 5 1/2's knocked me off the bucket I was sitting on, couldn't get another shot off. We left there drove around looking for other birds didn't see any, went back to the blind till 12 noon no more birds. We had left a trail cam out when we left, had another bird on camera 1/2 hour after we left next to the blind, and a 12:05 as we were packing up the truck one went strutting by... the season's not over yet...Mike's going tomorrow.. I gotta work (sucks!)

Good Luck to ya!!

Hey Carolyn! Ready fopr Turkey Season? I need to get some shooting time in, but can't wait!!! How have you been?

Ready..no..but can't wait!!! I'm taking archery hunter safety tomorrow night, and I need to get some shooting it too!! I need to get some calling practice done too, but we should be really in mood after next week we are going to the NWTF banquet. We went last year and won quite a few prizes, should be fun.

I really enjoyed my archery hunter safety course. It was a little much to work all week and then sit in calass all weekend, but I found it informative. I was not prepared to bring a "survival kit" with me, so we had to throw one together for day two! Something to keep in mind :-). I need to get more practice time in, but am running out of time AND practice my calls too! I CAN'T WAIT!

I'd much rather be snowmobiling that weekend too, but the all in one weekend is better for me than the late nights! Have fun if you head north snowmobiling!

I went and looked at a new bow for myself tonight! Oh I am so excited, I can barely stand it! IT has everything I need! I plan to go pick it up on Thursday! can't wait!

What kind of bow?
