Ellis Edward Sanders Sr.
88, of Lakemont, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at Kindred Hospital inAtlanta. He was born Dec. 12, 1918, in Washington County, Ind., to Oliver Edward and Clara Pearl Cauble Sanders. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a gardener and was of the Baptist faith. He was the last member of his immediate family. Survivors include: his true love and mother of his children, Vera Maxine Sanders; two sons, Ellis Edward Sanders Jr. and Jerry Lynn Sanders, both of Lakemont; a daughter, Shirley L. McNeil of Rochester Hills, Mich., nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Dewalt Funeral Home in Salem, Ind.
