My husband and I have a lease in Texas near Comstock on the Devil's River. Each year we have 18 hunters come in for a 3 week span. We're out there for a total of 5 weeks which is actually my vacation time but being in Texas and getting to hunt I don't mind all the cooking and cleaning.
We don't offer a guided hunt. You bring your 4 wheeler and your gun and you will be shown the property boundaries and then you are on your own. We have been blessed to have great guys out there each year that are honest and trustworthy and they enjoy the fact that they are able to go sit on a ledge somewhere or put up a stand where they want and just hunt on their own. The view from the cliff above the river is beautiful with the clear green water flowing - it is just an awesome sight. We are up in the hills so we have many canyons to just sit and watch the deer and Aoudad move around. Every year we always seem to get the full 18 hunters since most of them will come back year after year which is nice for us not having to go out and look for hunters. We always have a great time and look forward to getting back to the camp each year to see old friends and catch up on what is going on with everyone.

Rest of the year we stay busy with a race car that we run at local tracks, fishing in the St John's River and gardening.

We have one son and 2 grandsons that we wish were closer but military life keeps them traveling. This year our son just happens to be in El Paso, Tx at Ft. Bliss attending Sgt Major school so him and one of the grandsons will make it to the camp during Thanksgiving week which will be special for us and hopefully a successful hunt for them.
