BOOKS
Last of a breed by Louis La'mour. Great author Great novel! Anything by the late Georgia Bulldog fan Louis Grizzard. His granddaddy was a hero in the late "War of Northern aggression. The "Civil war" for you northerners. He was in charge of keeping yankees out of Miami beach. He had two horses and three Red Cross nurses shot out from under him. Louis wrote "Shoot low boys they're ridin Shetland ponies" and the imortal "Don't bend over in the garden Granny, you know them taters got eyes".
INTERESTS
Preparing for the upcoming season. Talking about last season. My dog "Bub", an old dog, and an old friend who the vet says I will be lucky to have come Thanksgiving. (Cancer is a God awful hateful thing.) Well,, Like I told the vet. "As long as he ain't hurtin'. Shooting. I love to shoot every chance I get. Want to get into reloading but damn, there ain't but so many hours in the day. you know? Gardening. My cousin got me into this. He knows all about plants, and what it takes to make them grow like they should. His garden is kick ass. He also had a dog. Forest. Forest was named after Nathan Bedford Forest of the afore mentioned conflict. Forest was known far and wide as the "Great anything breeder of Pender Co. N.C." Cousin and I both belive it may have contributed to his demise.
TELEVISION
History channel, Discovery channel, CSI, NCIS, World poker tour, old "All in the family" re-runs. MASH, Hill street blues. Most things on Fox News and all of the old John Wayne movies. Yep, you guessed it. I am most definately a conservative Republican. G.W. is good to go in my book. Like him or hate him, you must agree that because of him thousands of terrorists are dead.
HEROES
Tough one, but I have a few..... I'll keep these few to myself.
Married father of two daughters. I don't recommend the (father of two daughters) part for the weak of heart. They damn near caused me to jump off on my head a few years back. They are grown now, and I have 4 wonderful grand kids. I have a son-in-law who is in the 82nd and has done his country proud. He knows how I feel about him and his service. Oh, the screen name. My favorite rifle is my "Old 30-30" (marlin 336) that I won playing jacks are better trips to win poker back in about 1983. It looks rough but time and time again it has dropped deer. Most recently it dropped the respectable 8pt that is on my home page. Other than that I lead a pretty normal life. Work, home, Mow the grass, and wait on another season to roll around.
