Hows your hunting season going?

The hunting season has been okay. I killed an 8 pointer early in the year. I have been passing a lot up though. How about yours?

Taken 2 nice bucks w/ my muzzleloader. Pics are in my gallery. 1st time I have ever used both buck tags in a season. Stll hunting does but everything has been little.

You killed 2 with muzzleloader? our muzzleloader season isnt even in yet. its permit bow. i killed my 8 during fall bow! but ive been passing all the little does and spikes up havent even shot a big doe yet!

Here in Delaware bow seaon is Sept1- Jan 31, early muzzleloaderin 1 week in mid Oct., 1 week of shotgun in Nov- ended last weekend during which i used my muzzleloader instead of shotgun. Took a nice 10 pt., 1 week antlerless in mid-Dec, Jan has 1 week each of handgun, shotgun & then muzzleloader. We are only allowed 2 bucks per year and 1 of those must be a quality buck w/ 15" spread. 2 doe & 2 antlerless tags w/ license but extra doe tags can be purchased for $10.00 each

I sent you a mail message with a couple live links to ODNR websites. I can't put the live links in a comment!

Ohio has been having a lot of monster bucks taken in just the last 5 years.

Normally the 1st 2 weeks in November & I like the 1st week best because the bucks are really out & about during more daylight hours! Ohio is bow/crossbow hunting only during the rut, our gun season doesn't start until the week after Thanksgiving.

Some of the best public land is AEP, American Electric Power lands that are in the Eastern portion of the State in high deer density Counties. The Ohio DNR has a great website with lots of information, maps of State Lands & links and AEP has a great website with the same. All AEP asks is that you get & fill out one of their registration forms which has a tag to place on your dashboard, so they know who you are. I saw a couple bruiser bucks on AEP land in Coshocton County last year & wish I would've had more time to hunt it!
