I really just have not had the time and have no idea where to hunt them in mass..I may go try on Sunday evening somewhere If I see where they are hitting the corn or something.
Tuesday cant come fast enough. Got 3 more good ones this week on trail cam..All still in Velvet so far. Should be shedding though..Where you hunting? You check that spot out again that we found?? Where we parked that first time I almost hit a 3 point and 8 point in the middle of day crossing from that bean field side into there..
Yea got 4 pics of him on two different cameras about 400 yards apart on different days.. All were between 1 and 2:30 in afternoon..Proves they really do go get a drink in middle of the day..
was going through my mounts the other day relizaed that the bigest buck i got with my bow was a spike. may be hard for you to get him except for your days off because of the time ?[/quote]
My plan is to sit all day until I have to go to work til I kill him or one of the others I have seen. Ill just have to nap in the tree thats all.
nice buck hope you get him was a little suprised at the time he was coming through

I only bow hunt in ct have a nice little honey hole i found there are a few other hunters that hunt it but most hunt deeper I see a deer just about every time i hunt it but most of the time i always blow it in some way or another either i need to go home a few min early or they come in a little late. one place i would suggest to stay away from is one section of the bloomfield flood plain very heavily hunted lots of sign but there are stands all over it may be better in late season but when i tried it i counted around 20 stands. my best place to hunt is vt got around 3000 acres of private land to hunt and only a few people hunting it. Ma is ok most of the deer are coming from the east there are still some nice deer in the west but they are harder to come by. Shenipsit State Forest is lightly hunted during bow in ct. check out mount washington state park in western ma lots of big buck sign i can even tell you a ridge to check out.

Do you bow hunt also? I talked to one guy when I was scouting and he said the land I was scouting didn't get alot of archery pressure..Said gun is crazy but I dont really care much about that its so short..I am hoping for snow in Mass muzzleloader so I can head to western Mass to do some tracking..Heard there are some monsters over that way...I guess we will see..As far as CT im most interested in September and early October..Thats usually when I get my good ones..But I am already scouting now..So the homework will be done by then for sure...
Yea, Shenipsit is one of the peices I have been scouting. Plus Nipmuck and Scantic River (bow only). I got turkeys on two of them properties this spring..Alot of deer sign..But we will see the pressure..If I have to Ill outsmart the hunters to kill the deer..Alot easier just being smarter than the deer though. LOL
I saw an article a few years ago about a guy named Tatro killing 2 monsters in the Bershires in one week muzzleloader hunting..Been wanting to go there since..have made one trip over there scouting..Big country just like I like it for gun hunting..
3000 acres in Vermont..Thats friggin awesome..When I lived in Nh I just hunted Vt to shoot something and would shoot my big deer in NH..Now Vt is getting better every year..You having thet much land makes it that much better for you..My buddy also got us permission on some great property in Amherst...Looks to be a honey hole I hope...
