Hello Idahoshedfreak, Thanks for the comments. I really never thought of it until my son joined the marine corps. You get a REAL life look at the situation going on right now.

Hey.. Howdy from Idaho. Thanks for the friend request. It sounds like you keep really busy. Hope you have a great hunting season and you can stop by anytime for a visit.
Thanks partner. Since I listened to my grandfather and retired early I'm living life to the fullest. Don't move as fast as I used to but I make the young ones work to keep up. Stay safe and good hunting.

Scott... Howdy from Idaho. Thanks for the friend request. Stop by anytime and good luck hunting this year. Can you hunt Elk in Kentucky?

Yes sir, i got drew last year for a cow tag. Killed a cow that weighed 670. It was a great hunt. A lot of big bulls showing up in ky now, saw one killed the other day that unofficially scored 409. There is somewhere between 9-10k elk in Ky right now. Estimated. Soon to be 15k.

I am doing good. I went out archery hunting today and had a rag horn elk at 35 yards. He came in so quiet I did not see him behind me until he had winded me and spooked. I had been cow calling off and on for about an hour! The brush was so thick I had no chance for a shot.

it is amaxing how quite they can be. body size how big was he?

He was a nice plump 2 and a half year old probably about 350 lbs or so. Antler wise a small 3X4 rack. And yes you are right they can often move through the timber without making a sound.

Not to bad. seems like he was a youngen. Would u have taken him if he would have made a sound and u'd known he was there?
