I am 37 years old. I was married for 9 years and have been divorced for over 5. I am a college graduate and am a Paralegal for a law firm in Muncie. I have worked at my current employer for 7 years but have been in the law field for over 13 years. It is a really nice place to work and I get along well with my co-workers.. they are more of a family to me. I have two wonderful children, Ashley (age 17) and Zack (age 13). I love the outdoors, riding Harleys and I bow and gun hunt. I was introduced to hunting by an ex- boyfriend. I went to the woods with him several times and didn't see anything. One day he had the idea of me filming him bowhunting (like on the Realtree videos). He put me in a ladder stand across from him. After about an hour, he finally called in a buck. He pointed and motioned in front of us.. I turned the camera and spotted movement from the brush about 75 yards away. I spotted the buck and as he moved towards us, I started shaking uncontrollably all over....I got buck fever for the first time. (The scene in the old King Kong movie when the savages tie Jessica Lang to the trees and then she sees King Kong coming towards her for the first time flashed in my mind...lol) well, I swallowed hard and... you know when you are in a restaurant and swallow water the wrong way? well.. that's what I did .. the buck was moving in slowly... what was only seconds seemed like eternity as I was holding my breath so I wouldn't let loose...I was about to pass out ... just as he drew back to shoot I started coughing uncontrollably! Needless to say, I totally screwed up his hunt and he missed the shot ... the buck jumped the string and he sent the arrow flying right up his back - left all the hair to prove it! lol... but that isn't why we're not together anymore..(i don't think?.lol..) Well, I have been obsessed eversince. I hunted gun season that year and I went out the rest of the year ... seeking that fever. The next spring, I bought my first bow.. a Browning Rage. I practiced the whole summer. I took my first doe that fall in bow season and then a doe in gun season...still waiting on the big one though ... OBSESSION is an understatement. Yes, I eat what I kill and also share with friends. I have gutted deer and helped make jerky and summer sausage. I love everything about hunting ....from time spent with friends, the early morning trips for coffee at the local pantry, the anticipation of the day, to the "one that got away" stories on the ride home... I introduced my son to deer hunting and we have hunted together the last 2 seasons... and it is so awesome to share the outdoors with him and have him as my hunting buddy. Now, about my family...My daughter is a beautiful, fun, caring person. She is full of life and really fun to be around although, being a typical female teenager, she can be a royal pain in my side most days. I just know that when I talk all she hears is blah, blah, blah...I am so proud of her for just being able to be herself!! Besides hunting, my son is also a sports nut. He is very competitive and determined. He is a true team leader and player. He was the QB for his 7th grade football team and plays baseball in the summer. He has a life ambition of winning the Heisman Trophy. (We are hoping for the best..lol). He shows me his muscles at least twice a week and his "four pack abs". lol. He is very intelligent and does well in school. I have a black-lab mix named Harley. He is over a year old now and I love it when he greets me at the door after a long day. I just know that he understands everything I tell him!!! Sad, but he is my shoulder to cry on...and the best one I've had so far! Now, if he could just learn to open that bottle of bud..lol.. I do not want to have any more children. That phase of my life has passed and I am content to enjoy what God has blessed me with... and what a job! I am very lucky to be part of a close knit family. I am the youngest of four girls and am not shy to admit that I am a big baby but not in a selfish or self centered way. I have a wonderful mother and step-father who care about me very much and worry about me too much! I have several nieces and nephews. I love them all with all of my heart and like to think that I am the favorite Aunt. Wish I had more time (and energy) to spend with them. Two of my sisters are nurses and my other sister passed away January 5, 2006. She was a fighter and a true inspiration to all around her. She is the reason I try to be kind to others. I know life is so short and am determined to live it to the fullest and refuse to settle for less. I am just so glad that I am surrounded by so many wonderful and caring people in my life.I am truly blessed.
