From classic rock to country and live Texas style blues!

The outdoors and all aspects of Wildlife Management from research to habitat improvements and program oversight. I enjoy hunting elk and mule deer, the hunt camp camaraderie, good friends, guiding, family, laughter, travel, a good brew amd good food.

Away from hunting, I enjoy the sight and sounds the Harley Davidson motorcycles. Love the freedom and the ride.

Animals taken during our 2007 Season!

I have been in the Wildlife Management profession for nearly 25 years. During this time I have participated in research on Black bear, Mule Deer, bison, Elk, Mountain lion and Black-footed ferrets. Big game management is my speciality. I have developed some outstanding hunting programs for several Indian tribes and currently oversee a tremendous hunting program for a tribe here in NM. Over the past 2 years we have maintained an average of 363 SCI for elk, 76 SCI for pronghorn and with our management program, I know we will be taking some 180 to 200 class mule deer in the near future.
I am very lucky to actually use my wildlife degree in a profession I throughly enjoy!

Do you put in for the Gila elk hunt?

No I didn't, but I did draw a Unit 13 muzzleloader elk hunt. Looking forward to it.

Cool, cool, what do the bull there look like? 320+

More like 350+ thick PJ and mesa type country. Not a lot, but some very good bulls.

Wow some darn nice bull, hope you get 400+, that would be awesome.

If you have access to private land..I believe him. There is some good country in and around Montrose. I don't know where your headed, but all that country around Montrose, Naturita, Ridgeway, Norwood is all excellent country. AND if you get snow, they will come out of the high country. Man you should do good!! You lucky devil..

Ok, the grand mesa is up near Grand junction..you are headed to the black canyon country. If the unit goes east toward Gunnison, you are going to be in some good deer country. Hell even toward the Utah line is good too.

Ummm, not sure, it is about 2 hours north of Durango...

The guy I am going with is from up there, and he told me he would not let me shoot at anything under 200"!!! Said there were big bucks everywhere!

On public land, but the access is through private land and nobody else can get through!!!
