HEROES
Dylan, my cancer Warrior!! After two years of going through treatments for leukemia, he is still a happy upbeat little boy. He never asks why me, and gets down about having cancer. He says "I'm busy kickin' cancer's BUTT!!
Married (Crazy4elk) with three boys, but wouldn't mind having a girl someday if I can convince the hubby. (Yeah right) I work part time as a server in a restaurant only because it helps pay the bills.
February of 2006, my youngest son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and it has become a passion of mine to help raise money for the fight against blood cancers. This year alone, I have raised over $6000 dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In March, on my birthday, I paticipated with my husband and sister in the Big Climb for Leukemia at the Columbia Tower in Seattle. We climbed 1311 stairs. Yikes! My husband and I raised about $1500 for that. Most recently, I participated in the Hike for Discovery. I spent the summer doing training hikes and raising $5000. In October, I had my final hike in the Waimea Canyon on Kauai. It was as beautiful as it was difficult. The group hike 12 miles, crossing rivers, steep hills and narrow paths. It was an awesome experience. My son is also involved in some of the fundraising programs for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He has been an honored patient for the Celebrity Waiter's Auction, the hike for Discovery and Pennies for Patients. He is truly an inspiration. Visit him at www.caringbridge.org/visit/dylanellefson
In my spare time, I read, do crafts, shoot my bow with the family, hike, andy play taxi for the kids. I usually keep pretty darn busy!
Thanks for the add, your warrior is an inspirationand, and in our prayers, tell him too keep up the fight!!!!!.....I'm busy kickin' cancer's BUTT (PRICELESS)!!.... Jim
