Mission of CSF
Christian Sportsmen’s Fellowship serves as a fellowship for sportsmen and their families to experience the love of Jesus Christ through the shared passion of the Great Outdoors.
Vision of CSF
"As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God” (Psalms 42:1, NIV)
In 1994, several Christian sportsmen in Atlanta, Georgia sought God's guidance for a way to unite their love for the outdoors and their desire to reach men with the Gospel. As church leaders and successful businessmen, they shared a burden for reaching fellow sportsmen and realized the impact that sin continues to bring upon our world. As Christian Sportsmen enjoy the refreshment that God gives to them in quiet moments surrounded by His majestic, undisturbed creation, it is difficult to imagine how any man can be alone in God's great outdoors and not desire to know the One who spoke it into existence.
Their burden became focused in prayer and developed into a well-defined mission as an important part in fulfilling God's "vision" for reaching outdoorsmen with the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. God wants to unite Christian outdoorsmen from various denominational backgrounds for this purpose through local chapters linked into an international fellowship. God desires that men be united through their shared love for Jesus Christ and common interest in outdoor sports.
In the fall of 1994, the Christian Sportsmen's Fellowship was launched. Our purpose is to encourage discipleship and fellowship of believers by training them to share personal testimonies of God's life-changing power with others. The organization provides the training and forums for sharing personal testimonies of God's transforming power and uses outdoor sports as the lure for reaching millions of outdoorsmen in the U.S. and abroad.
Process of CSF
CSF serves as a resource team in building an international network of church-based affiliate chapters consisting of at least twelve seasoned sportsmen who make up each local ministry's core leadership in hosting outreach events and projects. The three primary functions of the church include evangelism, discipleship and missions and are supported through CSF's outreach approach using the terminology: Fellowship Together - Discover Christ - Become Passionate. CSF outreach forums introduce sportsmen to Jesus Christ through the common goals found among outdoorsmen in support of our: Christian Heritage - Outdoors Conservation - and Responsible Ethics. Relationships are then established to encourage, equip then engage Christian sportsmen in following a discipling track called "Climbing Legacy Mountain".
Invitation of CSF
We invite you to join our CSF team as a member then consider starting a chapter within your home church as an outreach to hunters, anglers and target shooters.
Doctrine of CSF
We believe in one God, Creator of the universe existing in Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the pre-existent Son of God, Jesus Christ, became incarnate, was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.
We believe the Bible, in its entirety, to be a divine revelation, written under divine inspiration, the true Word of God and only infallible rule of faith and conduct.
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of the redeemed, and the eternal, just condemnation and punishment of the lost.
We believe in personal salvation of all who confess the Lordship, redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and accept salvation through faith and his shed blood.
We accept the Biblical truth that as believers we are new creatures in Christ, and that we should demonstrate a new and transformed lifestyle in personal holiness of heart and mind, and in separation from the world and worldliness.
We believe in divine healing of the human spirit, soul and body in response to prayer, according to the sovereignty of God, and based upon the redemption that is in Christ inspires, and empowers for Godly living, witnessing, and ministering to others.
We believe in the indwelling of every believer by the Holy Spirit, and that He leads, inspires, and empowers for Godly living, witnessing, and ministering to others.
We believe in the Christian's hope - the imminent and personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We accept the Great Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ as being the personal responsibility of every Christian, and we pledge ourselves to the joyous task of leading others to Him.
Code of Conduct of CSF
CSF's Code of Conduct reflects our organization's goals for lifestyle Christianity. We believe in encouraging men to live according to the principles found in God's word. We believe that a man has five basic priorities:
God - "I am the LORD your God, You shall have no other gods before me. - Exo. 20:1,3, NIV
Wife - Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. - Eph. 5:25
Children - Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. - Prov. 22:6
Vocation - If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. - I Tim. 5:8
Local Church - And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-- and all the more as you see the Day approaching. - Heb. 10:24-25
With all other activities following - "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matt. 6:33
Mandate of CSF
In view of environmental concerns, we as Christian sportsmen accept our obligation to preserve our natural resources and to protect and perpetuate every living species, especially those which are endangered. It remains our biblical convictions that proper ethical behavior when pursuing game, fish or foul will ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy the hunting and fishing privileges and opportunities that we possess today. [Gen. 1:27-30; Gen. 9:1-3]
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.' "Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them", 'Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything'." (Gen. 1:27-28, Gen 9:1-3 NIV)
