I have a wonderful wife, great kids and now great wonderful grandkids. I live to spend time with them and in the woods. Every hunting experience is a grat experience. I've been in Law Enforcement for 23 years and will hang up the shield in about 6 months. I always wondered what i would do if i hung up the shield. I now know, i met a great friend a few years ago (Richard DeMoss). Mr. DeMoss is a World and State award winning taxidermist who I have worked under for the past 3 years. We opened a taxidermy shop (Wildlife Art Taxidermy) about 2 years ago in his home town of Pawhuska Oklahoma.
Turkey season is among us in Maryland. Remember to stay quiet, don't move and cover up.
Spring tip: Make the lead hen fight you in your calls and she will come after you. The gobbler will chase the lead hen and that is how you get them henned up gobblers to come out and play :)
Even if you have been before I would highly sugest another trip, not another place I have ever been clears the head like Alaska does. I have been working to move back up there for 25 years now, I travel ALOT and right now the thought of adding so many more hours to my flights does not appeal to me. Although with the market down right now I am looking at cabins etc on the Kenai Peninsula.
I DONT DO BIRDS,MY FRIEND RODGER DOES THEM FOR ME.I STARTED DOING MY OWN DEER AND HOGS TO SAVE MONEY AND GOT PRETTY GOOD AT IT.I GIVE RODGER MY TURKEY HEADS,HE USES THEM AS REPLACEMENTS WHEN PEOPLE SHOOT THERES UP REAL BAD.BUT IN MY OPINION FREEZE DRIED IS THE WAY TO GO.
Yeah! It's pretty high right now. The creeks here on the Ranch are over flown. The place would be Great for Duck Hunting...
Should be down by tomorrow (Friday)...
