ABOUT ME
Small town country boy that migrated west from Virginia about 10 years ago. Met my beautiful and loving wife in college. Since then we've had two precious babes, a little boy and girl. Don't want to wish away their childhood, but can't wait to get 'em in the woods. Been hunting and fishing since I can remember but I took up bowhunting 10 years ago and can't seem to shake the bug! My wife says it's an incurable disease...I tend to agree. I truly love being in the outdoors. I feel closest to God when I'm 30 feet up a tree watching His creation wake up. Hell yeah sounds like you got some good action goin on out there! Yeah Im partial to huntin cedar thickets, especially in rut, cuz the big boys still like bein concealed, not out in the wide open chasin some puss lol. Ill be off all week next week workin a couple days, and then huntin hard for 4-5 days. Im still debating bowhuntin, I got the gun out and ready to go, but my bow is BEGGIN for a buck lol
I would pay to be lucky enough to catch someone stealin it, i had one stolen 2 years ago too, it was a buddies brand new $350 gorilla climber too, on public land mine that was stolen was a piece of crap, but its the point of it. yeah good luck to you this weekend too man!
Haha you aint kiddin, Im SICK of the rain! Only advantage is a quiet walk into your stand, and helps keep your scent down a lil bit. I did the same thing, set up a cam where i saw the bucks coming from, was gunna hang a climber there for this weekend, come to find out somebody snatched it since the last time i hunted where it was hangin on private land, at that. oh well, what can ya do? Im hopin the same thing, I want a good chance with a bow, hell Im debating even getting my rifle out, I may just bowhunt the gun season
Dont get down man, I seen some bucks chasin this weekend, looks like rut may hit a tad early, so the activity should be pickin up! Seen a 4 pt and a big 7 pt nudgin does already
i dont know man, thats ignorant to take a head shot with a bow!
we still have hunters coming in the first full week of gun season, and a bowhunt the weekend after this weekend, and probably a couple late season weekend hunts, so theres still time
It was tough, we didnt see many deer at all, couldnt figure it out, weather was perfect! 1 big buck was shot at and missed, that was it. Man somebody was tellin me this weekend about a deer their buddy had shot, said it had an arrow sticking out of 1 eye, and he shot it with a bow to put it down. Thats some freaky $hit lol

yeah, its out in Eastern Ky though, a lil south of Ashland. It should be fun, ill be takin naps while everybody else is out there freezin and gettin rained on lol, though id just assume be in a stand too

yeah thats what I thought about this past weekend too, with all the rain weve had, and the cooler temps, but they werent movin well at all, surprisingly like you said. This weekend should be good, supposed to maybe hit our 1st frost too bad i aint huntin, got too mush shoot to get done

Yeah man, they are moving, saw a couple chasing last weekend.
